Job Summary:
A professional and customer-focused person that plays a vital role on our team. The ideal person is someone who is responsible, has strong customer service skills & is exceptionally comfortable interacting with and communicating with the public.

Responsibilities:
-Greet and assist customers with a positive and welcoming demeanor
- Operate a cash register, accurately processing transactions and handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods

- Utilize technical sales skills to effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers

- Demonstrate products and provide product information to customers

- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner

- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area

- Work effectively as part of a team encouraging and supporting the stylists on our team. 

- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge for the product lines that we carry.

- Maintain a tidy, clean salon environment throughout the day.

- Maintain a positive flow throughout the day with guests checking in and out. 

- Update and handle product inventory 

- Run errands for the salon (grocery store, post office, salon supply store)

- Make sure the salon is stocked with materials used daily (toilet paper, paper towels, gloves, foil, coffee, etc.)


Vital Skills:
- Experience in customer service

- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Willingness to learn products & how to communicate with clients about the products

- Experience with cash registers and credit card transactions

- Ability to handle tense, uncomfortable situations with unhappy clients and communicate effectively to bring resolution.

- Able to communicate *professionally* through text & email with proper grammar, correct tone.

- Strong critical thinking skills of how to efficiently book appointments and ability to think ahead to maximize the future salon schedule. 

- Able to follow directions and systems that we have established and put in place.

- Staying on task, focused and efficient to complete daily tasks. 

- A professional appearance and willingness to have hair and makeup styled and reflective of working in the beauty industry. 

- Dependable and arrives to work on time when scheduled without repetitive absences and maximizes their time while working.

This position is the backbone of the salon, you will be the first impression for guests walking into the salon and a vital part of the salon running smoothly throughout the day. Our salon is a successful, fast paced environment that must have someone at the desk that is dependable, a quick thinker, efficient and has strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
